A run is a chain of rooms on a branching map. You pick a node, resolve it, and look for the stairs. Floor 5 of an area is a boss. Clearing that boss opens the next area. Death returns you to the start of Area 1.
The loop, in the order you meet it
GameWith’s opening guide and NoobFeed’s review describe the same skeleton. Combat rooms are where your level actually rises. A win offers a three-way reward, often an Attribute or an Arts scroll. The official spoils screen, visible in a Steam screenshot, shows three cards at once.
You cannot save in the middle of a fight. NoobFeed says Save and Quit is available on the map screen. I treat that as one review’s report of the menu, paired with the fact that every hands-on describes runs as restartable from the palace entrance.
Early room choices
GameWith’s early advice is practical: take combat rooms and random events when you can, spend in the treasure room when the trade is good, strengthen an Art you already own before you hoard new ones, and keep at least one low-AP Art so you can still act when the gauge is thin.
Moving, opening treasure, and healing in a rest room raise Mugen Depth. The sakura room spends HP to lower that depth, clear a depth effect, or trade for a special Attribute. The meter itself is explained on the Mugen Depth page. Room-by-room costs are on room types.
The first boss is a gate, not a puzzle page
Area 1 is Sakura Pavilion, five floors, boss 牙獣丸 (Beastfang Maru). Colorful Media’s capture lists 51,775 HP. A second number pair, 15,559 / 26,652, was recorded from a frame and could not be re-located, so the table on bosses keeps the captured figure and the conflict. Attack patterns for later bosses are mostly missing, and I do not invent them.
Questions
Does the demo save carry into the full game?
The publisher has not said. This page does not promise a carry-over.
Where does a death send me?
Back to the start of Area 1, according to the hands-on reports. Mid-fight saves are not available.
