Combat: AP, Tension, and Over Arts

AP and the four Art slots

Basic attacks restore AP. You equip up to four Arts, and each Art spends AP. GameWith’s PC defaults put those four Arts on Q, E, R, and F. A Steam screenshot shows the pad labels X, Y, A, and B under a combo of 8 hits for 4,009 damage, with AP at 3/4. Another frame shows AP 1/6, so the maximum is not a single fixed number on every screen I saved.

NoobFeed describes cancel routes: light into heavy into Art, heavy into Art, and Art into Art. I keep that as the review’s combo grammar. Exact AP costs exist for only four named Arts on GameWith, and those numbers live on the arts table instead of being guessed for the rest.

Tension, dodge, and the shield

Hits fill a Tension gauge. At 100 percent, GameWith and 4Gamer say you press Z on PC to enter Over-Tension. AP recovery speeds up, and Over Arts become available. A Steam screenshot prints the Over Arts callouts “Mooncleaver!” and “Rending Blossom Barrage!” over a 6037 / 44644 damage pair.

Dodge is a backstep, a sidestep, or a dash through the enemy. NoobFeed says a perfect dodge restores AP and briefly slows the enemy and the projectiles. The shield is held. GameWith says it has durability and, once broken, stays broken for that run. A perfect block restores AP, spends no durability, and can lead to a counter. 4Gamer and NoobFeed both describe a Burst gauge that releases a Shield Burst to knock the target back.

NoobFeed also says there is no jump and no aerial string, and that status ailments stack to level 5. Both are single-source. Button names for Switch are not published; do not read the Xbox words as a Switch diagram. The controls page keeps the platforms apart.
